Milkweed Photo

The milkweed is the sole food source of the Monarch butterfly when it’s in a caterpillar state. This photograph uses a combination of diagonal and horizontal lines to provide a dynamic image for the eye and stability for the viewer. Notice the diagonal direction of the middle milkweed pod. It helps to guide the eye across and up in the photograph. The nearly horizontal lines of the leaves gives the image a stable foundation on which to rest.
