Milkweed Explodes Photo

Here’s the milkweed seed pod that has burst open. Geometric shapes can give a photograph both order and stability so your eye doesn’t jump around (or off) the photograph erratically. This composition is mainly made up of triangles. The first triangle is the tip of the milkweed pod that has burst open. The second triangle is between the three seeds in the middle of the fluff. It’s at a different angle, however, the repetition adds to the composition and the stability. The last triangle is the milkweed pod at the bottom of the image.

The last part of the photograph that makes this photograph very stable in appearance is the horizontal line formed by the railing in the background. It’s almost like a horizon line.

Children of Hope Statue Photo

This is a statue titled “children of hope”. It’s offset to one side to add interest to the photograph. It also tends to make the photograph more dynamic. I tried to fill the frame with the statue to prevent other nearby objects from drawing your attention away from it. I also photographed it from an angle where you can see all three children in a small space in relation to one another.

Lots of Portulaca Photo

Here’s my favorite flower, portulaca. I filled the frame with flowers as much as possible to get as many flowers as I could and have each flower a reasonable size.

Golden Hawk Sabre Jet Plane Photo

This is a Golden Hawk Sabre Jet. I basically photographed this one with the jet off center to the left. This leaves some open space in front of the plane giving the impression of flying off in the distance.
